Williamstown Amateur Players

Williamstown Amateur Players Inc The Williamstown Amateur Players was formed in 1981 when a group of young mums performed "Cinderella" to raise money for the local primary school. This pantomime was written and directed by Hilda Foad who remains the only foundation member still active with the group. The group has gone from strength to strength and in 2010, celebrates its 30th year of 'live' theatre production. Members write the scripts and direct the annual pantomime productions, with six public performances held in October each year as well as special performances for local schools and seniors groups. These performances raise funds for the Williamstown Hall, local schools and charities. The group, comprising women of all ages, meets each Tuesday morning from March to October in the Williamstown Hall. Each week the 9am to 12 noon session incorporates rehearsals and time for morning tea and social interaction between members. New members are always welcome and are encouraged to perform on stage or help with backstage or front of house operations. Unfortunately no creche facilities are available.
